Portrait of Samuel Yang, a student in the Master's in Digital Strategy at Digital Campus Rennes.

What is your background?

I completed my DUT in Information and Communication with a Documentation option in 2012. After that, I did a professional bachelor's degree in Corporate Documentation on a work-study basis with the Bouygues Construction group. My main mission was to redesign the group's new intranet. I was also brought in to create web pages and web content to disseminate information clearly and effectively.

I then decided to continue my studies by enrolling in the Master's in Digital Strategy at Digital Campus Rennes.

What makes Digital Campus different and unique?  What is unique and different:, a two-year work-study master's programme in web professions, a selection of students who do not necessarily have an IT background, a very responsive team (I was contacted on the very evening I requested information on the school's website). That is why I chose to join Digital Campus rather than a school listed on monmaster.  What are your expectations from the programme?, I would like to:, acquire a strong foundation in communication and web strategy,, benefit from teaching that adapts to current needs,, and manage real projects for real companies., How do you see yourself in 5 - 10 - 15 years?, First and foremost, I hope to have my Master's within the next 2 years! Then, in 5 years, I see myself joining a company's Communications team, working and thinking about the strategic directions the company should take in terms of its communications (internal and external). In 10 years, why not head a Communications department and manage projects or decide on the web communication strategy of the company?, What advice would you like to give to future students?, For students worried about not finding a company for their work-study placement, there are many opportunities (web developer, web communications, webmarketing, community manager…). I think there are more opportunities in the Paris region, so you need to be prepared to make sacrifices and make the Rennes-Paris journey. It is doable!, You need to start early and not get discouraged when, out of 100 applications, 90% come back with a rejection. Perseverance and patience are the watchwords. I also think that sitting the entrance exam as early as possible is an advantage for finding a company — but above all for getting into the school.
