Looking to move into the digital sector after studying in a completely different field?

Discover the journey and advice of Anaïs Würtz, who is taking her Prépa Mastère year at Digital Campus Paris to build the skills she needs to join the Mastère Direction Artistique Digitale.

I chose to join the Prépa Mastère in order to discover the world of digital: digital culture, the tools and software, as well as the various digital professions. Given my background, it felt important to build solid foundations before joining the Mastères offered by Digital Campus.

- What was your background before joining this programme?

Before joining the Prépa Mastère, I completed a degree in Applied Foreign Languages, including a third year in Spain through the Erasmus programme. When I came back to France I started a Master’s in wine economics and oenology, but I quickly realised it wasn’t a field I could see myself in over the long term. So I gave myself some time to travel, gain professional experience and think about my future. After these two “gap” years, I decided to go back to studying and find my path.

It was while talking about my plans with the people around me that someone mentioned the programmes offered by Digital Campus, and in particular the Prépa Mastère, which won me over very quickly.

- What did the Prépa Mastère bring you?

The Prépa allowed me to discover and learn a huge amount about software and digital culture, to meet people who, like me, had decided to change fields (it was really enriching to learn about everyone’s journey), and to find out what I was capable of after only 6 months of training.
Above all, I discovered which digital profession I wanted to pursue: Art Direction. I first joined the prépa intending to head towards digital marketing, but in the end I discovered a passion for graphic design and design.

- What are you most proud of?

What I’m most proud of is having dared to go back to studying in a field I knew little about, and realising just how much I could learn and produce in such a short space of time.

- What advice would you give to a young person looking to move into digital?

I would tell them not to be afraid to dive into the adventure that is digital, to stay curious about everything around them, and to always try to learn new things.
