Discover the interview with the founder of Facilecomm, one of the partner companies of Digital Campus Toulouse.
Tell us about Facilecomm…, I am Marc Hericher, founder of a startup called Facilecomm. Its role is to develop connectors between different information systems. The company's DNA is rooted in e-commerce. To date, we have created several solutions for online retailers, which we continuously develop and improve. We help e-commerce businesses integrate the web quickly and professionally by offering easy-to-use tools to increase their growth according to their core business., I also run a second company, specialised in online sales, which grew out of the first. We use and above all test our own software development before offering it to our clients. This allows us to identify difficulties, problems to solve, and bugs — and to spare our clients from experiencing them., The company has ten employees, including two interns and two students on work-study contracts. We take a participatory, collaborative approach with our staff. In general, when a student joins us, they gain real experience in e-commerce. Our students are often very happy to have reached their goals because ultimately, we don't hold them back from working directly with clients. We give them real freedom, because today's young people grew up with keyboards. We also learn a great deal from them.
What do you expect from the school's students?, I expect my work-study employees to be ambitious — that is very important to us. They also need to be visionary, eager to achieve goals, and committed to seeing real life projects through. Since they are the ones who drive the business every day, they must be motivated, hardworking, and persevering., We only look for very strong profiles, and those we have are now fully integrated into our team. We want to find people with such skills and abilities so they can become long-term members of the company and ultimately be hired., The startup model is a growth accelerator, especially in e-commerce: things change constantly, and this is very beneficial for students. It allows them to learn more and better understand the e-commerce landscape of tomorrow., , Your impressions of the Digital Campus students you've had in your company?, We currently have two Digital Campus students, and we are very pleased with them. We believe some profiles already have a clear future ahead of them. They are both very professional and serious. They are both proactive with ideas, and we love that., Any advice for our students?, The two students we currently have are both working on personal projects on the side. They love their projects because they are passionate about them. Our advice would be to persevere with those projects and above all to learn from this experience. They should stay ambitious and not be afraid. When something excites you, go for it.
