Amaury Pupat, a student in the Digital Master's Prep Programme at Digital Campus Lyon,
tells us why he joined the school, his best memories and his experience in the workplace.
Digital Campus Lyon ? It happened by chance! Originally I was applying to enter 3rd year at IESA in Cultural Project Management. During the interview I had with Michael Monfort, Director of Digital Campus, he suggested the Digital Master's Prep Programme at Digital Campus. I took some time to weigh the pros and cons, and in the end I chose the Master's Prep, which seemed more relevant for acquiring new skills.
Otherwise I would say the overall atmosphere in our cohort was really great — a great team!
The experience!
First, during the prep challenge week, diving straight in with the team and distributing tasks effectively so we could move forward efficiently was a huge help. It was great to be working on something concrete and tied to current events — it was a real opportunity and I am glad we managed to seize it as a team.
Project manager — from the little experience I have, I would say it means knowing how to handle a bit of everything, having a good overall vision of the project down to its details, and having people more skilled than yourself in each of the specific areas you work on.
As for the hackathon, it was clearly all a bonus.
Two intensive days, high-level coaching, presenting in an auditorium to people who expected real deliverables from us… On a personal level — and I think it was the same for the whole team — it was a huge amount of learning in a short space of time! It was also enriching to work with students from IESA and EM Lyon who were not familiar with the project — we had to brief them quickly and move forward with everything we had already done during the challenge week.
The 4 people who joined us all brought genuine added value to the final result — brilliant.
The interview went well, I followed up straight away and was taken on the following week. So currently, I am a project manager at Sharewood agency until the end of July!
Within the agency I carry out a wide variety of tasks: webmarketing, design, copywriting, project management, participation in client meetings… in short, I get involved in a bit of everything and was given responsibilities from day one — it threw me straight in at the deep end. It is a human-sized agency with a close-knit team and a great working atmosphere. I quickly felt at ease with them, so it has been entirely positive!
