After a decade in Division 1 (40 European Cup matches including two semi-finals and a final in 2008), Mérignac Handball (MHB) was relegated to Division 2 because the club did not fully meet the requirements (a minimum budget of €700,000, a venue with a capacity of 1,500 seats, etc.) imposed by the National Women's League (LNF).
In 2009, following a socio-technical analysis, the vision for the years 2010-2020 was to build on the city of Bordeaux in order to establish a top-level club with a more solid foundation and international reach. To date, Jérôme Fernandez (captain of the French national team – World, Olympic and two-time European champion) is the patron of this large-scale project.
One of the key drivers in carrying out this project is communication: a quality website is one of its channels.
THE PROJECT ENTRUSTED TO DIGITAL CAMPUS
The website must undergo a thorough overhaul in order to meet several objectives:
- Use of video
- careful usability so that the desired information can be reached easily.
- Ease of use by anticipating certain technologies
- the possible option of having club referee management software
This new website must also make it possible to communicate all kinds of information such as:
- internal club events
- external club events
- the world of partners
The club's communication must also be carried out in connection with social networks such as Facebook or Twitter. Other services are also expected:
- online ticketing: with the items reserve, pay, print and attend),
- online club shop: with the items merchandise and fan-supporter area.
