Ulrich Cadart - BeMyApp

More than just a school, Digital Campus is a place where students, companies and project leaders come together. Digital Campus should be seen as a cluster, bringing together digital talent. Take Ulrich Cadart, 22, a former student of an applied arts school (2012) and holder of a higher national diploma in Corporate Communication (BTS, 2009). Knowing the site where the Bordeaux web school set up so well, it was only natural that he would put his skills at the service of the school's projects.

I know the campus well, it's a matter of affinity; my BTS years in Bissy were by far the most formative years for me. In 2009, along with other students from my class, we decided to take charge of the school's student union (BDE) by organising welcome and farewell parties, ski weekends and other themed evenings throughout the year. All of this aimed at bringing students together and giving full meaning to the title of "Campus". So when, in 2011, I started a new course in Graphic Design at the ECRAN school, and Romain Auberger told us about Digital Campus, it immediately caught my attention.

How did you hear about BeMyApp?, I signed up for the Numérivin project led by the Wine Cultural and Tourism Centre of Bordeaux (CCTV), a project for which I was in charge of the web design. For me, Digital Campus was the opportunity to leave my business card, so to speak, and to expand my network of professional contacts useful for my future. And it paid off, since it was the leader of the Numérivin project who told me about BeMyApp, 3 days before the weekend kicked off. I had then returned to ECRAN to give a presentation of the project for the new edition of Digital Campus., , , Can you describe in a few words your BeMyApp experience and your project?,, To tell you the truth, I arrived at Node1 for the BeMyApp meet-up without really knowing what to expect. While chatting with the speakers and project leaders for the weekend, I found a team already made up of 4 developers from Ingésup and a graphic designer from LIMA (an art school in Bordeaux). The app project was interesting: BeMyDiary will be a genuine interactive travel journal, where travellers can create and manage their own tourist itinerary based on the museums/monuments, wine estates, parks and gardens around them thanks - among other things - to geolocation, display it on a map and attach photos, videos and comments to it. Users can then make their travel journal accessible to their loved ones, via a website, so they can follow their adventures in real time. We didn't sleep much during the weekend, and the 1st prize from the General Council of the Gironde made us realise that, despite the work, we had still had a great time, and that was thanks in no small part to the BeMyApp organisers who did everything to make us feel at ease from the moment we arrived in Marseille at 2 a.m., so that we wouldn't die of hunger or thirst throughout the weekend. The little 4-star hotel in Paris, following a small mishap on the train journey home, was much appreciated too :D Thanks to Pierre Forcade!, , What does the future hold for this project?,, Today, we are optimising the development of the application for Android in a first step, improving certain ergonomic and graphic points to distribute the app on Google Play, and to present it at the next Data Local to local tourism stakeholders. The application's showcase website bemydiary.fr, dedicated to viewing shared journals, has been online since last November. In the meantime, we are sharing news about the development of Be My Diary on Facebook., , Interview conducted by Eva Garraud, Digital Campus Development Director, , ----------------, 1 The Node is a space in Bordeaux dedicated to professionals in digital and new media
