This project is led by the association of the Wine Cultural and Tourism Centre (CCTV). It was created in 2009 by the City of Bordeaux, the Bordeaux Urban Community (CUB), the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) and the Bordeaux Wine Interprofessional Council (CIVB). The Aquitaine Region joined the association in 2010. The association's mission is to assist the City of Bordeaux, as project owner, in creating a major cultural leisure facility dedicated to the civilisations of wine.
Through the place it holds in the global wine trade, through Bordeaux events such as Vinexpo or the en primeur week which attract thousands of professionals of every nationality, and through its membership of the Great Wine Capitals network, Bordeaux is a beating heart of the world of wine. With its prestigious terroirs, its emblematic châteaux, its winegrowers carrying centuries-old traditions, its merchants and its oenologists who have carried the science and love of wine all over the world, but also through its wine routes travelled for centuries by enthusiasts from all 5 continents, and its festive gatherings such as Bordeaux Wine Festival, the city can also claim the title of cultural capital of wine.
But it was still missing an emblematic place to embody this title. That is the project the association is working on, with enthusiasm and the support of the entire wine-growing industry. Ambitious, surprising and innovative, the future Wine Cultural and Tourism Centre will be that long-awaited major facility of international scope, aimed at all audiences: enthusiasts who want to better understand what defines the identity of the great terroirs of Bordeaux and the world, connoisseurs who taste and enjoy it today across the globe, and all those curious about the art of living, history or new experiences.
THE PROJECTS ENTRUSTED TO DIGITAL CAMPUS
To support this project, the CCTV entrusted Digital Campus Bordeaux with the development of a mobile app, an app that must showcase Bordeaux's wine heritage using the means offered by digital technology (video, geolocation, audio broadcasting, etc.).
The long-term objective is to be able to offer Bordeaux tourists the best possible app. Successive cohorts at Digital Campus will therefore be invited to optimise the work carried out by previous cohorts, as well as to improve the solution (proposing new services, etc.).
