The world of e-sports, despite its omnipresence on social media, remains little known to non-gamers…
What career path should you pursue? How do you break into it? What does the daily life of a gaming influencer look like? Can you turn your passion into your profession? At what cost? (…) So many questions that crossed the minds of the first-year Master's students in Digital Strategy Expertise and which Benjamin Leray, alias Sixquatre, answered during his talk at Digital Campus Rennes on April 18.
Fresh from the capital, the e-sports manager wastes no time introducing himself and sharing his passion for this “out-of-the-ordinary” profession that takes him to the four corners of the globe. A life that runs at 2,000 clicks per hour alongside his teammate and the game in which he is crowned World Champion: Rainbow 6.
From now on, flanks, overtime, clutches and backstabs hold no more secrets for us! A huge thank you to you, Benjamin, for this exceptional visit! The students of Digital Campus Rennes will cherish a warm memory of it… and you'll surely gain a few new and loyal subscribers!
“Very interesting; we got to talk about a profession that is still little known (caster for online games) and a field that still lacks a lot of visibility. Getting Sixquatre's perspective and feedback from experience was truly enriching.” - Chloé, Master's in UX Design
“I know absolutely nothing about e-sports and this meeting with Sixquatre was truly enriching. I learned what e-sports involves, what the daily life of professionals is like, and how competitions are organized. Several students seemed genuinely interested and passionate. Some questions showed me just how much it was another world. But it was really a great time. Sixquatre really made sure we didn't lose focus and clearly presented his project with his partner on Twitch and YouTube.” - Rosalie, Master's in Digital Marketing & Brand Content
