As part of the partnership with the Office Franco-Québécois pour la Jeunesse (OFQJ), following the selection of 3 Bachelor Digital Campus students from Bordeaux, Rennes and Toulouse, it is now Hugo Le Beller's turn — a second-year Master's student at Digital Campus — to share his experience as the future community manager for the OFQJ at the Quebec Digital Week, coming up in April.
My name is Hugo Le Beller, I am 23 years old and I am in my second year of a Master's degree in Digital Strategy at Digital Campus Rennes. I am completing this programme on a work-study basis at a Nantes advertising agency, LM Y&R, where I hold the position of traffic manager. Last November, we received an email from our school presenting the OFQJ opportunity. I immediately jumped at the chance by sending in a CV and cover letter. After a few weeks of waiting, I finally learned that I had been selected. For me, this was a unique opportunity to take part in a major digital-focused event and to meet professionals from the sector. My mission will be to create a blog for the OFQJ centred on the French delegation at the Quebec Digital Week. I will update this blog before and during the event. I will cover topics revolving around the French delegation, including introductions to professionals and students, testimonials, reports, short video content, photography, and more. I will also take on the role of social media communicator. I am in contact with Astrid Laye, project coordinator for Export and Professional Cooperation at the OFQJ. We have exchanged several emails and phone calls since my selection, and I will be meeting the organisation on 12 February during a visit to Paris. I am very happy to have been selected and highly motivated to carry out the project — especially for an event taking place in Quebec! I am still finding it hard to believe; this is the first time a project of this scale has come my way. On the other hand, there is an element of the unknown for me. I have never taken part in such a project, which can be daunting at first. But I tell myself that it is an incredible opportunity and I fully intend to make the most of it. I have never travelled to Quebec. I have mainly visited European countries, and I completed an 8-week internship in Finland. It was an end-of-year placement during my International Business BTS (higher national diploma); I was in charge of international client relations at a company that manufactured robots for kitchen furniture manufacturers. Working abroad is a fantastic and very enriching experience — especially when you are alone among people who do not speak a word of French, in a very different culture, and where night barely falls at all in June! First of all, I would like to thank Digital Campus for putting forward an opportunity like this, and I would encourage them to keep offering such interesting projects to students. Thanks to experiences like this, we enter working life with a great deal of valuable experience. So I look forward to seeing you on the future OFQJ blog and on social media!
