The hackathon: a fast and effective innovation process for reimagining co-working and co-living.

In their quest for innovation, Action Logement and La Mêlée called upon our students from Digital Campus Toulouse for a Hackathon. A genuine creative process, it brought together 45 students who spent two days working on a set brief. The event took place at La Cantine in Toulouse, a well-known venue in the startup and co-working world.

The Hackathon: reimagining and innovating

Creativity and collaboration: these are the keys to this event's success. The field of communication brings together a wide range of diverse profiles, well-placed to propose new concepts. Our designer students, marketing experts, developers, and communications specialists pooled their skills to imagine and create. Working under time pressure to stimulate idea generation — that is the core challenge of the hackathon.

It was the second-year Master's in Digital Strategy students who were tasked with exploring two emerging concepts., Co-working: a shared workspace and professional network., Co-living: a shared living space for workers., Many ideas emerged from the process: space design, creation of shared infrastructure, setting up an internal digital platform… All these solutions stem from a user experience-centred approach. Digital Campus would like to congratulate the two winning groups for the originality and relevance of their proposals. The organisations commissioning these innovations were equally impressed by the quality of the projects. Thanks to their fresh, outside perspective, the students were able to suggest genuine added value to the projects.

"It was quite an enriching experience! We didn't have much time — we had to stand out with a creative idea and build the project around it quickly. Finding the right balance between innovative and achievable isn't always easy. But you have to let go of self-censorship and not hesitate to put forward new ideas, which can bring that extra something to the project!" shares Quentin TrompeauMaster's student.
