Digital Campus Lyon organised its first Hackathon of the year in December, in partnership with Chocolats Voisin and coaches from the Facebook Ambassadors programme.

What is a Hackathon?

A Hackathon is a way to bring students together around challenges over 48 hours. It gives them the opportunity to work as a team on real-world problems while meeting tighter deadlines than usual.

Students from the Bachelor Web programme and first-year students from the Digital Marketing & Brand Content, UX Design & Big Data Master's programmes worked for 48 hours on the digital transformation challenge set by Romain Boucaud Maitre, Deputy Managing Director of Chocolats Voisin. To develop a digital strategy rooted in innovation, the students were mentored by two web consultants from the Facebook Ambassadors programme. At the end of the two days, the teams pitched their projects to a jury composed of project sponsor Romain Boucaud Maitre, Mathieu Glavany – Founder of Numate and Facebook Ambassadors programme, Audrey Moine – Co-founder of Dooxy, Dominique Damide – Head of e-SNCF 574, Christophe Lesage – Marketing project manager at Apicil, and Nicolas Chavas – Digital project manager at ENE.

The projects presented won over the jury and its president, who concluded the event by thanking the Digital Campus students and reminding them that “a little piece of each of them will be in the Chocolat Voisin of tomorrow.”

A new Hackathon is being planned for the first quarter of 2018 with e-SNCF.
