Brittany stands out from other regions thanks to the dynamism of its economy, which enables web professionals to grow their businesses. Between established companies and major incubators, a range of opportunities is available to graduates of Digital Campus Nantes.
A pillar of the French Tech
Brittany is now regarded as France's second-largest hub in the field of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) behind Paris. It accounts for 35% of public research in ICT and is home to more than 650 specialised companies, particularly in the web sector. In 2005, the region's reputation was confirmed by the creation of the world-class competitiveness cluster Image & Réseaux. Brittany is also one of the pillars of the French Tech, with French Tech Brest+, French Tech Rennes Saint-Malo and Nantes Tech.
Digital Campus Nantes trains web and digital communication experts in line with the needs of companies. Graduates can apply for a variety of jobs in Breton web marketing agencies or offer their services to companies looking to improve their visibility, both on social media and in directories. Digital Campus graduates can also join start-ups specialising in digital transformation. They have the skills required to become a web developer, community manager, webmaster, web marketer, motion designer, UX designer, graphic designer, web project manager, and more. Open days and recruitment events organised by companies and Pôle emploi (the French national employment agency) are great opportunities to access these positions.
Graduates of Digital Campus's professional web training programme - bachelor's level (bac +3) can also move towards starting their own business.
Brittany is home to 19 start-up incubators, providing them with premises as well as IT equipment, advice and support in securing funding and drawing up a business plan. While some are geared towards new technologies and research, others focus on web projects. The West Web Valley, based in Brest, has the main goal of launching web start-ups. It offers project leaders accommodation, coaching and an equity stake. For its part, Le Booster supports start-up founders by providing them with coaches and experts who can offer useful advice in various areas such as product development or the business model. A coworking space is also set up in the centre of Rennes. In addition, Emergys supports start-ups specialising in innovative technologies.
For the record, Brittany currently has more than 1,000 start-ups and start-up projects. In 2016, the region injected 10 million euros into Breizh Up to provide financial support to the most promising projects.
