For A Better World was the theme of the 5th edition of Digital Women's Day (Journée de la Femme Digitale, JFD), which took place at the Palais Brongniart in Paris in March 2017.

Here is a figure that should make you sit up and take notice: on average, only 30% of those working in digital professions are women! A figure that prompted a reaction from the two co-founders of the JFD (Digital Women's Day), Delphine Remy Boutang and Catherine Barba. Thanks to this event, they are able to achieve their goal, which is to enable women to grow in the digital field.
The presence of women in digital will drive both business creation and jobs. Digital technology is an asset for everyone. It serves to learn, to innovate and, in the case of women, it helps them to be "heard".

As a general rule, the event consists of giving specific advice and methods to future digital women who want the keys to becoming entrepreneurs.
Digital Women's Day welcomes thousands of participants every year and is a great success. It helps to give value to women's place in the digital world and to give them ever greater confidence in their entrepreneurial journey.
This gathering helped to foster diversity, whether by attending the various talks (from Stéphane Richard, the CEO of Orange, to the Vatican's webmaster) or thanks to the connected village that showcased the very best digital innovations.

 2017 Edition:

" Dare, Innovate… Start a Business ! ", " Change the Future ", " Adopt the digital attitude ! ", " Meet the future " and " For a better world "  these were the themes of the 5 editions of Digital Women's Day.

For 5 years now, Digital Women's Day (JFD) has celebrated the boldness of women who launch businesses and drive intrapreneurial changes to improve tomorrow's digital world.

Every year the event is sold out and the show is delivered by various experts from the sector (the CEO of Orange, for example, in 2015, and the Marketing Director of Coca-Cola France in 2016, etc.).

For this 2017 edition, a new surprise was on offer: 3 different worlds in which to try 3 brand-new experiences. A (Get) Inspire(d) area where our international speakers will share their vision of the world; a Network area; and an Experiment area dedicated to partners' innovations. An after-party will also be offered so that people can keep on sharing ideas for innovation or invention.

Among the speakers, we could count on the presence of 100,000 entrepreneurs, of associations whose aim is to instil in young people the desire to start a business, Facebook, Instagram, UN Women, StartHer (an association aiming to give visibility to women in digital), as well as many other entrepreneurs from the FrenchTech.

The day ended with the presentation of the Margaret Prize (named after Margaret Hamilton — a coder at NASA). Each year this prize rewards a woman intrapreneur and entrepreneur.

For the 2017 edition:
Joséphine Goube (Techfugees) won the entrepreneur category
Roxanne Varza (Station F) won the intrapreneur category

The closing assessment was very positive! On the way out, there were highly motivated, skilled, ambitious women ready to reconquer the world of the web!
