In September, a new programme arrives at the Rennes campus: the Bachelor in Web Development.
High school graduates and students are already preparing to join this new track.
For 8 years, Digital Campus Rennes has offered a versatile Bachelor covering digital professions — the Digital Project Manager Bachelor. Design, marketing, communication and web development are all part of the curriculum.
But for our most tech-passionate students who love writing code, there is often a desire to pursue a more specialised programme.
This new track covers as many facets of the developer role as possible over 3 years.
The goal: to master front-end and back-end development, algorithms, machine learning and connected objects (IoT), while ensuring the security and efficiency of all projects.
Nearly 11 programming languages will be covered progressively throughout the weeks. But there's more! Languages evolve, and training the next generation of developers also means preparing them to learn new languages throughout their professional lives, using "learn how to learn" modules.
Years 1 and 2 are in initial training mode, with a 3-to-6-month internship at the end of each year, and most importantly, a work-study (alternance) contract in the third year!
This opens the door to entering the job market directly after obtaining the RNCP level 6 qualification, or continuing on to a Master's in Web Development / Lead Tech.
Melvin, an alumnus of the web development programme and now a professional in the field, will be the lead instructor for this new course.
Already a trainer for adults and younger learners alike, this 2018 graduate knows how to bring patience and pedagogical skill to guide the next generation.
Supported by specialist instructors for each specific language, he will ensure the programme's cohesion and its relevance to real-world company projects and challenges.
As with all programmes, admissions are based on a competitive process open to all students who hold or are completing their baccalauréat (French high school diploma). A technical test and, above all, a motivation interview make up each admission session, allowing us to meet and get to know each applicant.
