At the end of their first year of study at Digital Campus Toulouse, first-year Master's students must present their DC Start project : an innovative digital concept.
The project presentations for the Master's in Digital Strategy took place at the VillagebyCA in central Toulouse. Throughout the year, students were required to develop an idea for an innovative digital concept and think through how to implement it. They produced a comprehensive reflection covering project feasibility, context, the problem to be solved, commercialisation, and distribution.
Students presented their projects before Virginie Sailhan, marketing professor; Christophe Marrange, head of student support for the DC Start programme; and Matias Estaño, who works in collaboration with startups at La Mêlée.
Food, sport, culture, leisure: all projects revolve around topics the students are personally passionate about, and that is precisely what gives their ideas their strength. Each project required a communication strategy, a business model, branding, user experience research (UX Design), and more. Among the standout concepts was a sports predictions platform focused mainly on football, called Petits Paris entre Amis (Small Bets Among Friends). Still at the Facebook page stage, the creator wanted to study user behaviour and redesign the experience — offering something more ergonomic and clearer than existing prediction platforms. Similarly, another student proposed a web platform connecting sports enthusiasts, allowing a person to invite strangers to come and watch a match at their home over food and drinks. More socially-minded solutions were also pitched: a waste recovery platform, a structure designed to make exhibition opportunities more accessible for artists, a Geocaching-style game based on a photography contest, and many other innovative ideas that may well come to life in the future. These students still have one year left to refine their thinking, develop their concept's content, and build an effective commercialisation plan. One thing is certain: we will be following these projects very closely!
