The GPDC flagship hashtag «#cestenligne» (it's online) has never been more fitting!
Constrained by the global health crisis and the ban on gatherings, Digital Campus Bordeaux was unable to hold its final presentations on 31 March in the traditional way: at an iconic public venue with the whole school in attendance.
Yet that did not stop the event of the year from being a resounding success.
Agility and Creativity: the watchwords at Digital Campus
At Digital Campus, a challenge is never turned down — and this year, both students and the team rose to it with flying colours: making the 9th edition a day more connected than ever. How? By harnessing the power of Blackboard Collaborate (the tool used for all our online classes) and the live-streaming platform Twitch. As a result, all student presentations could be delivered in front of the jury and their project sponsors — and also broadcast live, accessible to the entire world.
A fully digitalised 9th edition which, far from hampering quality, elevated both the presentations and the event itself, orchestrated masterfully by the project coordinators team.
After supporting the 129 students for over 6 months, these coordinators — comprising, it should be noted, Alumni and 2nd-year Master's students — managed the production and hosted the event for over 8 hours. A tight-knit team supported by all students and jury members, who kept the live stream buzzing — viewed by more than 3,300 people within 24 hours.
And the winners are...
Each year, four prizes are at stake:
The student award went to the Les Vivres de l'Art project; the jury's favourite award went to Safran Helicopter Engines; the project manager of the year medal was presented to Maxence L. (project manager for Safran Helicopter Engines); and the project of the year award was given to the I2S team, whose presentation was praised by both the jury and the project sponsor.
« I am very impressed by the presentation. We have already placed an order worth 10,000€ for the website to build on the work done. Many thanks to the whole team and congratulations to you all! » Xavier, I2S project sponsor.
« This is unprecedented at the Grand Projects. An interactive presentation — the format really lends itself to it. Excellent work! » Sébastien Tricard, Digital Campus Projects Director and jury president.
« Could this be the project of the year? » Sylvain Coudert, Digital Campus academic coordinator and jury member.
All project sponsors from this edition came together to highlight the quality of the projects and the commitment of the students, right to the very end.
« The students are creative and impactful — they knew how to adapt and were very responsive. Many thanks for everything! » Vanina, Tournée Minérale project sponsor.
« I especially want to highlight their flexibility. They evolved alongside the company throughout the 6 months. » Aiden, Gloo Concept project sponsor.
« Congratulations on all your hard work and dedication. We have concrete deliverables that we will be able to use as soon as lockdown ends. » Samia, 1kubator / Téophraste project sponsor.
A truly outstanding edition that turned constraints into creative opportunities, delivering an event of exceptional quality in an unprecedented format — one that will be long remembered.
