On 9 March 2023, the digital school in Rennes, Digital Campus Rennes, paid tribute to its home region, Brittany.
Throughout the day, students were able to celebrate their beautiful region through a wide range of activities.
Proud of our region!
It all started gently with a tasting of one of the region's iconic desserts during the morning break. On the menu: crepes, laughter and Breton striped tops — every student who played along and wore a marinière top received a complimentary crepe.
Next up: a regional battle! Students were invited to mark their favourite Breton department on a giant map of Brittany installed for the occasion. By the end of the day, there was no winner — everyone had valiantly defended their home turf! We even spotted a few Loire-Atlantique towns finding their way onto the wall.
It was a day unlike any other, as it was also the occasion to share a special announcement for the Rennes schools in the group (ESG, ESARC and Digital Campus). In the same spirit of sharing and bringing the three schools closer together, the teams decided to unite everyone under a single name: the Renn'eo campus.
For now, we're calling it "the Renn'eo archipelago", as the campus is spread across two sites in central Rennes: ESG/ESARC on Boulevard Laënnec and Digital Campus near Charles de Gaulle.
Renn'eo, the Rennes campus project
To sum up, Renn'eo is the single name bringing together 3 schools under one roof with a shared spirit. "Eo" means "here it is" in Breton, so the campus name can be translated as "Here is Rennes". This name reflects the attachment to the Breton territory and the schools' deep roots in the Rennes Metropolis ecosystem.
Loic, a Bachelor's student, tells us:
"It was great to see everyone in their Breton stripes! We all shared a crepe together at lunchtime. They were incredibly soft! I hope this won't be the only day like this."
This day is just the beginning of a long series of new initiatives at the Renn'eo campus.
