A freshers' experience like no other: The Alumni Tour — DC MY CITY!
Graduating in 2014, the first Digital Campus cohort played an important role in the school's growth and reputation.
Proud of that experience, three of them came up with the idea of a "DC tour of France" this year, with the goal of sharing their school experience with new students across the network's cities. Their objectives:
Encourage sharing between cohorts and cities
Give the Digital Campus network a tangible reality and unite all students
Engage students through an unconventional approach
Offer a post-graduation perspective grounded in real-life experience.

And so, on 2 October 2015, Lara, Thibault and Nicolas launched a video challenge to students across the 5 Digital Campus cities (Toulouse, Bordeaux, Lyon, Rennes & Montpellier): "DC MY CITY".

The Brief: In 2 weeks, create a disruptive, innovative and creative project showcasing one or more highlights of their region and their school.

Working as a team, students pooled all their skills to design a digital format of their choice: website, data visualisation, video, blog, interactive installation, app… They worked agency-style throughout the day between classes, in the evenings after school, sometimes through the night, and above all at weekends. In barely 15 days, they became real videographers, web designers, coders, writers and web integrators.

After close monitoring via dedicated tools, it was during the week of 19 October that our 3 alumni set off on their tour of France to meet students and attend project pitches. The presentations were as dynamic as the energy poured into the previous two weeks. The spirit instilled by the alumni gave rise to some outstanding digital creations, all of which highlighted the sense of community and the importance of the local professional network — hallmarks of Digital Campus.

All these projects are now available on the platform: http://dc-ontour.fr/

This experience allowed students to work together right from the start of the school year and to passionately champion their cities through a digital project. By meeting the alumni, they had the opportunity to exchange — individually or in groups — on more personal topics, sharing their experiences, doubts and thoughts about their daily lives and their futures, over a café terrace.

Many of them experienced it as a true integration experience, allowing them to get to know each other, share their favourite hangouts in their city, and create a project together that reflected who they are.

Future alumni are already invited to start thinking about the project they will propose at the start of next year for the DC TOUR 2016.
